"Lync Together" In 25 Points



The project in 25 Points :


1. 40m2 class with 50 students , Lack of Technology and lack of resources

2. More than 40 % of the students smokers and part of them drug abusers

3. Physics is unwelcomed subject with success ratio 68 %

4. Physics lab has no equipment and “ electricity “ as a subject is dangerous for students to experiments on. 

5. We have only 1 computer and 1 smartboard.

6. ( based on Gardner’s Multiple intelligence theory )We categorized the students into 8 groups “ Thinkers , Judges , Accounts , Engineers , Inventors , publicity , artists  , quality control” and students suggested one more group “ First-aid “

7. Based on “ ADDIE Model “ we passed through 5 phases of the project “ Analysis , Design , Development , Implementation and Evaluation “

8. All students are free to form or join any group of them ONLY Judges through elections . They’re responsible for settling down any disagreements.

9. Thinkers put forward the Topic idea “ Electricity conservation “

10. In Court shape sitting , the Judges through voting declared that “ Electricity conversation is the problem and solar-cells is the solution “

11. With On-site survey , “ Accountants” determine the part of the city that has maximum consumption of electricity  using graphs on excel

12. Engineers Group reported the availability of using solar cells there considering the atmosphere conditions and safety.

13. Inventors Group suggested the pattern of the solar-cells that can fit the buildings there.

14. They all together work on a real-model with the help of “ Virtual Lab Program” to make sure of the correct connections and make an approx. cost

15. Arising problems are to be settled in the weekly meeting where judges rule

16. Using Microsoft Yammar instead of Facebook for more security especially for those students who are recuperating from drugs was an advantage

17. Lync was our crystal clear magical clue as we depended mainly on it to engage absent students in our class , also holding meetings and sharing files synchronously. It was effective while communicating with students from other countries to assess the work.

18. Smart phones that most students have were another success factor.

19. Quality control Group “ Spider Group” that connect all groups together – watching the progress on the website and skydrive then reports every step of every group using criteria and rubrics and suggest modifications to the plan if it is necessary.

20. Publicity team work on a website that have 5 parts every group is responsible for a part.

21. Artists are acting , drawing , sing for promoting a campaign to support the project

22. At a Collective Meeting The final report with a brief abstract enhanced with the experimental findings are sent to ( 1- Ministry of Education & 2- the Governor Office ))

23. We had 9 fully-recuperated drug-abusers students.

24. We had this term 95% success percentage in physics

25. We achieved a great level of Collaboration , Knowledge Construction,  self-regulation, real-world problem-solving and innovation , the use of ICT for learning , skilled communication

Description of "Let’s Lync Together"

Based on the concept of Engagement of Students in learning process and concerning the theories and Learning styles as shown :

Project-based Learning
Problem solving based Learning
Mind based Learning
We engaged smokers and drug abusers in addition to the other students through Lync to work as teams for studying Physics
They build knowledge , analyze , evaluate and create by using all possible technological aids
Virtual labs and Lync program still the best two programs which help making a leap for the students
Our students were categorized on the base of Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences into 8 groups : (Thinkers – Judges – Engineers – Accountants – Inventors – Artists -Publicity team – quality control team )
High Courtshape setting for the students were met by brilliant acceptance .

Start Point :


After obtaining the percent 48% of students are smokers or drug abuser who hate the word learning 
It was necessary to find a style that meets their expectations ; everyone attitudes 
It shouldn’t be random so we based on up-to date theories taking into consideration every advantage or disadvantage of each.

Categorizing students :


Every student can choose his team according to his own opinion after a rehearsal about the duties of every team , Only Judges Team were chosen through elections

Subject choosing :


After all students search about the main topic which is “ Saving Energy ” and they choose , by the help of judges team “ Electricity “ which was put forward by Thinkers team
